Questions
How do I calculate hours worked?
Subtract clock-in from clock-out, then subtract unpaid breaks. For example 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a 30-minute break is 7.5 hours.
How do I convert minutes to decimal hours?
Divide the minutes by 60. 15 minutes = 0.25 hours, 30 = 0.5, 45 = 0.75. The calculator shows both.
How is overtime calculated?
Under US federal rules, hours over 40 in a workweek are usually paid at 1.5 times the regular rate. Some states also have daily overtime rules.
